KONE Technology and Innovation (KTI) is where the magic happens at KONE. It's where we combine the physical world – escalators and elevators – with smart and connected digital systems. We are changing and improving the way billions of people move within buildings every day. We are on a mission to shape the future of the industry with new technologies and sustainable innovations.

We are looking for a

Data Architect, Data Products

to join the KONE IT Enterprise Data & Analytics team in Espoo, Finland. The team leads our Data Foundation initiative—a modern, cloud-based approach to data using the latest architecture to drive digital transformation. This enables scalable AI/ML and digital use cases across the organization. Data products are essential in generating business value, and strong data architecture ensures their reusability and maintainability.

As a Data Architect, you’ll ensure an effective data supply chain within assigned data domains—designing and optimizing the architecture from ingestion to consumption layers, enhancing data product value, and documenting the physical architecture. These domains integrate data from multiple systems, with products serving diverse users across the company.

Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering data products that meet business needs. You’ll provide architecture support to stakeholders, resolve technical issues, and guide data-related problem-solving. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Global Data Owners, Enterprise Architects, Data Scientists, and development teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business needs, define information and data requirements, and guide end-to-end data pipeline development.
  • Design data architectures and models and ensure data quality.
  • Drive data innovation, develop new products, and advise consumers on existing data assets and capabilities.
  • Translate KONE’s strategy into data requirements, supporting planning and complex implementations from a data architecture perspective.
  • Identify improvement needs, integrate them into system and product roadmaps.
  • Support incident resolution by identifying root causes in data flows and preparing permanent fixes.
  • Catalog data assets and products to improve documentation and usability for consumers.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A master’s in engineering, computer science, MIS, or related field.
  • 10–12+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, analytics, or software engineering in enterprise settings.
  • Expertise in CRM, ERP, product data management, and business process data. Experience with SAP ERP, Salesforce CRM, and FSM.
  • Ability to document and visualize data pipelines and models (3NF, dimensional), and support engineering teams hands-on.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and in applying SDLC, DevSecOps, and DataOps practices across the full pipeline lifecycle.
  • Technical mastery of tools such as Databricks, medallion architecture, Unity Catalog, Airflow, DBT, AWS services (Glue, EMR, Athena), Spark, Flink, Kafka, Terraform, and Git platforms. Certifications in AWS/Databricks are a plus.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, compliance, QA, and cloud FinOps.
  • Experience mentoring, leading teams, and advancing DataOps maturity.
  • Familiarity with agile methods and tools (Jira, Confluence, draw.io).
  • Ability to deliver in agile sprints, collaborate globally, self-organize, seek feedback, solve problems, and communicate effectively in English.

Who you are:

We are searching for an enthusiastic person to join the team who is excited about developing own professional skills even further, learning new things and contributing to team success. We are expecting you to take self-driven, proactive approach to your work, find & implement solutions, continuously looks for improvement opportunities in own area, solve problems, make decisions and share the learnings to colleagues.
