Our expectations

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer eager to develop and implement AI-powered solutions within Roche's technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in software development, a willingness to upskill in AI and Generative AI technologies, and the ability to integrate large language models (LLMs) into applications and software development processes (testing, refactoring, requirements management, deployment).

• AWS: Proficient in AWS services: S3, EC2, EKS, IAM,  Lambdas OR Azure: Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, API Management, Storage

• Cloud architecture with the focus on serverless computing, scalability, networking and integrations

• GenAI practical applications: Familiar with RAG, agents, document search & retrieval, and prompt engineering.

• LLM Expertise: Understanding of state-of-the-art text & multi-modal models, evaluation metrics, and fine-tuning.

• Optimization & Application: Knowledge of LLM performance assessment and adaptation for specific use cases.

• ML: proficient in AI frameworks e.g. Langflow, Langchain, Langsmith

• Cloud AI offering: familiar with AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI

• Container technologies: Skilled in Docker and Kubernetes.

• DevOps and IaC: proficient with CI/CD (Gitlab pipelines/Github Actions/Jenkins), IaC frameworks ( Terraform/CDK/Bicep)

• Scripting: Proficient in scripting languages like Python and Bash.

• Monitoring and Observability: Familiar with AWS CloudWatch Logs, Metrics, Datadog and AI Model Monitoring

• Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Demonstrates a strong desire to resolve issues and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment with time pressure, collaborating with a geographically distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

• AI & Cloud Integration: Develop AI-powered applications, leveraging LLMs and cloud AI services (AWS, Azure).

• Solution Design & Consultancy: Work closely with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and propose innovative solutions.

• Cloud & DevOps Expertise: Design, deploy, and optimize cloud-native AI and DevOps solutions across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Infrastructure & Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI model deployment, ensuring efficiency, security, and scalability.

• Cross-Stream Collaboration: Cooperate with other product streams to diagnose and understand their needs, offering technological consultancy and solution recommendations.

• Architecture & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in designing IT and AI-driven architectures.

• Agile & DevOps Practices: Promote the adoption of DevOps methodologies in large-scale platforms and organizations, driving cloud adoption, infrastructure as code, and automation.

• Strategic Engagement: Effectively engage, influence, and negotiate with business and IT partners at all levels, fostering transparent communication during strategy and roadmap creation.

• Knowledge Sharing & Community Engagement: Share expertise through workshops, training sessions, and community discussions to drive AI and DevOps best practices

• Leading teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions for Pharma Development IT, incorporating AI-driven optimizations.

• Developing AI-powered tools to enhance developer workflows, automate testing, and improve software quality.

• Driving AI-driven automation in DevOps pipelines to accelerate software delivery, improve security, and ensure compliance.

• Designing and implementing key automation and infrastructure solutions to optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Collaborating with business partners to implement DevOps best practices, improve organizational DevOps maturity, and integrate AI capabilities.

• Defining and implementing security strategies for DevOps pipelines, ensuring AI-powered applications meet security and compliance requirements.

• Experimenting with Generative AI to explore new possibilities in software development, automation, and innovation.

What We Value

• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with a focus on EKS, IAM, Service Catalog, and AI-driven cloud solutions (AWS AI services, vector databases, cloud ML).

• Strong proficiency in Python, focusing on scripting, automation, and AI-driven development.

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for scalable and efficient deployments.

• Proven ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines (GitLab Pipelines, Jenkins), integrating AI automation for testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Expertise in Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to automate infrastructure management.

• Proficiency in Git, ensuring smooth collaboration and streamlined development workflows.

• A strong focus on efficiency, performance, and cost-effective AI-driven solutions, ensuring innovation while maintaining operational excellence.
