LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote-friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in Latin America, preferably working in hours that align to PT (Pacific Timezone) or ET (Eastern Timezone). Candidates located in Santiago, Chile are able to work out of our Santiago office as remote/hybrid employees. Candidates located outside of Santiago, Chile will be fully remote employees.
THE ROLE:
Are you passionate about digital analytics and ensuring accurate, high-quality data collection? Do you enjoy working with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize analytics solutions? If so, you may be ready to take on the Senior Analytics Engineer role within our team.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain digital analytics solutions to support our clients’ digital transformation. You’ll collaborate with developers, and product teams to ensure scalable and reliable data collection while establishing best practices for analytics instrumentation and governance.
This role requires deep expertise in digital analytics platforms (i.e.Google Analytics), tag management systems (i.e. Google Tag Manager, Tealium), and familiarity with JavaScript, SQL, and data layers. You will also ensure that tracking mechanisms persist through dynamic content management systems (CMS) and databases, and that user-level tracking is consistently implemented using CDP tools such as mParticle. This role also requires strong English language proficiency and experience working with remote teams across North America and Latin America with clear communication and coordination across distributed teams, including our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development and implementation of robust, scalable analytics systems and understand how to leverage their capabilities (Google Analytics).
- Confirm end-to-end analytics and data tracking functionality following new CMS implementations.
- Ensure attribution mechanisms persist, including tracking URLs through dynamic databases and systems.
- Implement and maintain GA4 data layers based on pre-defined instrumentation rules.
- Integrate user-level tracking via mParticle (e.g., mapping of mpid for behavioral data analysis and engagement tracking).
- Collaborate with analysts on the Apply Digital data team and client stakeholders to translate business needs into analytics solution designs.
- QA data capture and reporting across web and mobile platforms; create and maintain documentation such as data dictionaries and QA workflows.
- Present analytics findings and technical recommendations to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Keeps up to date with the latest technical trends and industry best practices, with an opportunity to influence the direction for the Data & Analytics Discipline.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal communication) is required.
- Experience working with remote teams across North America and Latin America, ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones.
- 5+ years of experience in analytics implementation with leading platforms such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
- Expert-level proficiency with Google Tag Manager, including implementation, debugging, and advanced configurations.
- Solid hands-on experience in front-end web development, with strong knowledge of JavaScript, the DOM, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Segment, mParticle or similar customer data platforms (CDPs) for streamlining data collection and integration across various analytics tools.
- Experience with front-end instrumentation, QA, and debugging of analytics tags and events.
- Familiarity with data modeling, architecture principles, and best practices for scalable and efficient analytics implementations.
- Understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/initiatives.
- Familiarity with consent management tools and privacy-compliant data collection practices.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or Engineering.
