- Develops and communicates a clear strategy, roadmap, and plan for NS data estate, ensuring a focus on creativity, innovation, and modernisation.
- Influences senior stakeholders across a range of complex issues from MD level and above.
- Leadership responsibility for people in platform engineering, science, architecture, product ownership & device management supporting their business outcomes & development in their roles.
- Able to navigate complex business issues, often across multiple stakeholder groups. Cutting through complexity to simplify the way we work and deliver benefits for our customers, our colleagues and our business
- Key role in the Data & AI leadership team
- Actively seek opportunities for the team to improve the delivery of outcomes across the whole of BT.
- Promote collaboration; lead by example by participating in internal networks, events and communities of practice.
- Operates as an SME within own field of expertise, developing, leading and advocating the implementation of the data governance strategy roadmap focusing on supporting our off-shore teams.
- Defines and directs processes that monitor data and AI governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, privacy and overall data quality.
- Acts as the primary subject matter expert on security and AI best practices, managing and identifying potential data risks and recommends changes to mitigate these risks and enhance security.
- Drives collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure acceptance and sponsorship of data governance policies.
- Leads the translation of business requirements into technical specifications, establishing and defining details, definitions, and requirements of applications, components, and enhancements across Motive, NDP and CDP.
- Mentors and coaches experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
- Leads the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve the data governance team processes, such as the optimisation of documenting and implementing of data governance policies, standards, and procedures in existing and new data environments.
- Owns and delivers the platform roadmap, setting clear priorities, targets, and KPIs to drive platform performance and operational stability.
- Ensures operational stability and performance of Motive, NDP and CDP. Experience Layer (platforms and applications), maintaining uptime, integrity, and security.
- Acts as a point of contact for external tech vendors (Motive) working closely with the accountable Chapter Lead to manage vendor relationships and ensure alignment.
- Drives platform reusability, optimizing the use of platform components across squads to maximize efficiency and reduce duplication.
