Data Analyst

We currently have an opportunity for a Data Analyst in Canberra. Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. 

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Support the implementation of Defence data strategies by identifying data challenges and opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Defence to gather insights and improve data-enabled decision-making.
• Contribute to the development, testing, and rollout of data-led solutions, tools, and initiatives to support capability outcomes.
• Assist in building the data maturity through structured analysis, solution design, and knowledge sharing.
• Translate complex data problems into practical outcomes that align with strategic Defence objectives.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience working in a Defence or Government environment, ideally with exposure to Army capability or operational data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and interpret complex information.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders across various levels and functions to gather requirements and deliver outcomes.
• Familiarity with data tools, business intelligence platforms, or digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
• You must have and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
