Job Description:

Within the Cyber ​​& Security Solutions Division,  we are looking for a senior candidate to manage the Data aspects of an important International Program.

Following hiring at one of Leonardo's italian offices, immediate secondment to the Hague office for a period of 30 months is foreseen.

The person we are looking for will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and project-specific regulations.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of data handling, including collection, storage, entry, maintenance, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct periodic assessments and audits focused on data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Monitor and enforce data access controls and implement appropriate security measures.
  • Manage and optimize data management systems and tools, ensuring their availability, performance, and regular updates or backups.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of data management processes, activities, incidents, and governance adherence.
  • Prepare and deliver data reports, dashboards, and performance updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Communicate data-related challenges and provide actionable solutions in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data management, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies.
  • Support configuration management (CM) activities by ensuring contract compliance with configuration requirements.
  • Generate and present CM status reports to stakeholders, maintaining transparency on progress and issues.
  • Ensure complete documentation of all CM decisions and actions for traceability.
  • Provide training and mentorship to project team members and junior CM staff on CM tools and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with contract managers to resolve configuration-related concerns and support contract execution.


Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.

Seniority:
Senior, 5+ years of professional experience managing data for large-scale IT projects, preferably within the defense or government sector.

Professional Skills:

  • Proficiency in data management tools and software (e.g., SQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, MS SQL Server, MS Excel).
  • Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data security standards and protocols, including encryption and access control mechanisms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address data-related issues and challenges effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data compliance regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NATO-specific regulations).
  • Understanding of data security best practices and risk management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NATO Secret security clearance higher.
  • Relevant certifications in data management, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), or equivalent.
