A Brief Overview

The role supports the Pricing R&D team for the delivery of experience studies, pricing basis review, and in force portfolio performance management for the Southeast Asia markets. The Actuarial Analyst will assist in data preparation, conducting relevant statistical analyses, and contributing to research that supports effective management of the business. This position offers a strong foundation for developing actuarial skills and gaining exposure to pricing and research activities under the guidance of experienced team members.

What you will do

• Assist in the full spectrum of data preparation for regular and ad hoc business needs, from setting data requirements, extraction, development of statistical analysis plans and design of the database schema, coding and data cleansing .
• Support the data governance processes, including the assessment and remediation of data quality related issues, to ensure data integrity and fit for purpose.
• Assist in conducting experience studies for Southeast Asia markets and generate insights through detailed statistical analysis of the data.
• Assist in the development of pricing bases including basic research and gather industry data to support actuarial analysis.
• Support timely and insightful in-force portfolio management to drive sustainable business growth.
• Support the preparation of regular reports and presentation slides for pricing basis review and in-force experience monitoring, for internal and external clients.

Qualifications

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related disciplines.
• Previous relevant internship(s) or 1-2 years of relevant work experience in an insurance/reinsurance company will be a plus.
• Advanced PC and technical skills, including statistical programs or database application (e.g. Oracle, SQL, Python, Power BI, Access or equivalent technology) are preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work independently
• Highly organized, delivery-orientated with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects.
