3 Month Jun-Aug Summer Internship
Job Summary: 

Explore cutting-edge applications of sensor fusion and machine learning operations (MLops). As an intern, you will work on integrating light grid data with camera systems to enhance accuracy and functionality. Your primary focus will be on automating the retraining of our machine learning models, including those related to vision processing, light grid tracking and classification, and advanced weapon detection systems. Additionally, you will support data collection and model improvement as we transition toward real-world pilot scenarios, which present complex challenges and open exciting research opportunities. This internship is ideal for students passionate about machine learning, data fusion, and practical applications of AI in dynamic environments.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sensor fusion would be the focus of this internship. Future- synchronise the tracking from CCTV to Gate (Tracking synchronization of a person). Locate person to help guide station agent.
• Light grid synchronization (timetamps between it and camera)
• Assinging the label from the detected object/person of the camera to the lightgrid.
• Control paddles opening timing based on location and label/class of object/person in light grid.
• Output: Safety and security of passenger

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Stay up to date with the latest ML/AI research and technologies to implement innovative solutions. 
• Document ML/AI development processes and procedures for future reference and troubleshooting. 
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure ML/ AI solutions align with business objectives. 

Minimum Job Requirements:  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. 

• Proven experience in ML/AI development, including machine learning and deep learning. 

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, NLP libraries. 

• Strong understanding of data science principles and methodologies. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

Skills/Experience/Knowledge 

Essential: 

• Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and techniques. 

• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision. 

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 

Education and qualifications 

Essential: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. 

Desirable: 

• Master's degree in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.

• It is essential for the candidate to have excellent English communication skills both oral and written – must be able to clearly communicate complex topics and decisions to an audience who doesn’t hold the same level of technical expertise, and be able to effectively discuss solution options and ensure they are understood  

• Someone who is always striving for continuous improvement and understands the need for change controls and coding best practices. 

• A positive work ethic, analytical thinker, and an effective communicator. 

• A self-motivated, focused individual with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. 

• The ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and capable of working effectively under pressure. 

• Able to work effectively with remote management, minimal supervision and regularly exercise discretion and decision-making. 

• Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude, and be proactive at recommending and implementing change initiatives

• Able to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.  

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 

• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and business needs. 

• Enthusiasm for learning and staying current with AI advancements.
