Senior Staff Data Visualization Engineer, Power BI

The Senior Power BI Developer (Staff Data Visualization Engineer) is responsible for supporting the growth of our data analytics capabilities, which are crucial for driving business insights and decision-making. Help us translate complex data into powerful and purposeful visualizations. If you are passionate about data analysis, able to build solid relationships with internal clients, and work through the entire data process (from data collection to visualization) – we want to hear from you. This position reports to the BI & Analytics Manager, is part of the Global Analytics team, and will be located in Kraków, Poland.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports, business management dashboards, and applications using Power BI.

  • Build relationships and closely collaborate with business stakeholders and internal development teams to effectively execute projects.

  • Support clients in requirements analysis, identifying data sources, and developing Power BI dashboards according to requirements and company standards.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentor less experienced developers, and create organizational processes and standards.

  • Proficiency in administering and overseeing Power BI architecture, including ensuring adherence to best practices and monitoring platform performance.

  • Help build a solid knowledge base by documenting development processes and solutions for future reference.

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies in the field of data analysis for use within the organization.

  • Integrate Power BI reports into other applications to provide enhanced business capabilities.

  • Create custom visualizations and implement row-level security on data.

  • Develop data models that are compatible with data warehouse standards.

  • Use advanced level calculations on the data set in Power BI.

  • Test formulas and visualizations to ensure their functionality.

  • Document progress of work using tools like Jira and Confluence.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in building robust Power BI dashboards.

  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data modelling and normalization concepts

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven experience and very good knowledge of Power BI and DAX language.

  • Very good knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.

  • Proficiency in data modelling, DAX, and Power Query.

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other BI tools such as Qlik Sense or Tableau.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

  • Certification in Power BI or related technologies.
