Project Description
The project to be evaluated under this consultancy is the Skills for the Future Program in Belize, funded by the Government of Belize through financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The project’s objective is to contribute to the closing of the skills gap to prepare tomorrow’s workforce for the 4iR (Fourth Industrial Revolution). The specific objectives of the proposed operation are to: (i) increase access to instruction that accelerates learning in foundational skills; (ii) increase access to instruction that promotes learning in 4iR skills; and (iii) increase access to gender-specific education services to promote inclusive education.
Position Description
Education Development Center (EDC) is preparing a proposal for a consultancy to conduct evaluations of educational programming under the Skills for the Future Program in Belize. This consultancy will:
- Conduct experimental evaluations of an accelerated instruction intervention in primary schools in Belize.
- Conduct experimental evaluation of teacher Individualized Education Programs (IEP) professional development.
- Conduct quasi-experimental evaluation of the use of virtual laboratories in secondary classrooms.
EDC is seeking a short-term consultant to serve as Data Manager, with skills in research, evaluation, and data collection. The period of performance will be 7/1/25 - 6/30/27. This consultancy is contingent upon award by the donor.
Candidates shall have at a minimum the following qualifications:
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Statistics or related field.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working on data coding and database management.
- Demonstrated experience working with data entry, data cleaning and data management.
- Experience working with educational or social data
Language:
Professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English.
