Job Description

Join MUFG as a Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial technology. You'll be at the forefront of designing and managing cutting-edge data infrastructure, ensuring seamless data integration, and driving innovation through real-time data processing. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining data quality, optimizing performance, and safeguarding sensitive financial information.

You Will:

• Data Infrastructure Management: Designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure, including databases, and data pipelines, to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. 
• ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Development: Developing and implementing ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a consistent format, and load it into the data ecosystem for analysis. 
• Data Integration: Integrating data from different systems and sources, including internal databases and external APIs, to create a unified view of the organization's financial data. 
• Data Quality and Governance: Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security by implementing data governance processes, data validation, and data cleansing procedures. 
• Performance Optimization: Optimizing data infrastructure and processing pipelines to enhance data processing speed and overall system performance. 
• Real-time Data Processing: Implementing real-time data processing solutions to handle streaming financial data for time-sensitive applications like trading platforms or fraud detection. 
• Data Security and Privacy: Implementing security measures to protect sensitive financial data from unauthorized access and complying with data privacy regulations. 
• Collaborative Work: Collaborating with product owners, business analysts, data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide them with reliable and accessible data.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with advanced knowledge in SQL, regular expressions (regex), testing frameworks, agile methodologies, requirements gathering, and project leadership. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

You Have:

• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience with testing frameworks
• 5+ years of commercial experience with ETL tools (experience with Apache NiFi is advantageous).
• Proficiency in programming languages and regular expressions (regex) (Python is considered an advantage)
• Experience in systems integrations including file based, database, and API frameworks. 
• Experience in data-related process controls.
• Proven experience working with a team of developers using agile methodologies to achieve planned process deliverables.
