Business Intelligence Engineer (m/f/d)

Lidl Digital is the digital, online heart of Lidl. We are the system provider for the Lidl online shops in seven countries so far and offer additional services across the whole of Europe. Our aim is to constantly develop our offers so as to best link the in-store business to online commerce. An important element of the innovative omnichannel approach is the Lidl Plus customer benefit program. Exciting offers, such as travel, photos, mobile phone tariffs and green electricity, round off the comprehensive product and service range.

What You'll Do

• As a BI engineer (m/f/d), you are part of one of three data enablement teams that are primarily responsible for the constant expansion and maintenance of our global business data model.
• You will drive insights for Lidl Digital’s business through the development of a self-service data platform that cares about data for all kind of analytical use cases (analytics, data science, visualization).
• You analyze data sources, develop data models and design robust ETL processes using a variety of tools (ie. Databricks, Snowflake, MS Azure etc.)
• You ensure data integrity throughout our pipelines, and support QA of our reports.
• Your data solutions keep the business on track and are the very basis of substantial business decisions every single day.  
• You advance automation efforts that help the team/organization spend less time validating data, and more time analyzing it.
• You are creating tangible value add for the business using the Lidl Digital treasure trove of data by developing and providing intuitive business and analytics applications.

What You'll Need

• Completed studies in computer science or related areas with a focus on information technology and data analysis
• You have accomplished experience in Python (pyspark, pandas) and SQL and are willing to learn new processes and languages
• Experience and knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g. GCP, MS Azure) and data bricks
• You have already gained experience in planning and creating ETL processes with Spark and orchestrating pipelines (knowledge in Airflow, Spark Streaming, YAML is a plus)
• You have already worked with ERP data (e.g. Google Analytics, SAP) and/or are interested in learning more about it with the help of the team.
• You score in professional and communicative dealings with external partners and stakeholders
• Languages: Fluent in English, German an advantage but not a must have
