Your Role

Does working at the interface of powerful AI technology, challenging compliance topics and technology related ethical questions excite you? ZEISS Digital Partners, a unit within the ZEISS Group that supports teams in Medical Technology, Industrial Quality, Semiconductor Manufacturing, and other exciting fields in advancing their digitization, are looking for a Responsible AI Consultant - Technology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the company’s AI governance and actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation at ZEISS. You will be responsible for actively shaping a company-wide AI governance framework in close collaboration with internal stakeholders from the business and a wide range of business support functions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement responsible AI guidelines and policies for the development and use of AI systems and products

  • Develop risk assessments and compliance testing of AI solutions

  • Collaborate with ZEISS’ ML Engineers to support innovative solutions to implement ZEISS’ responsible AI program priorities

  • Collaborate with other SMEs to conduct bias testing and mitigation on ZEISS’ AI/ML products

  • Identify risks and collaborate with AI system team leadership and business management on testing and evaluation procedures, which includes working on process, controls and documentation

  • Define and measure algorithmic impact of data, models and outcomes, for example algorithmic fairness

  • Advice on the development and integration of responsible AI tools

  • Establish and oversee monitoring systems to formalize ZEISS’ technical implementation of AI risk management controls

Your Profile
  • Bachelor or Master degree in law, computer science, engineering or related field

  • Multiple years of experience in technical aspects of AI compliance gained during the last 5 years

  • In-depth knowledge of the EU AI Act, GDPR, and related digital regulatory areas

  • Experience using governance tools (e.g., model registries, documentation platforms, compliance software)

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their potential impact on society

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to bridge legal, technical, and business perspectives

  • Pro-active and hands-on approach to challenges and getting things done mindset

  • Ability to systematically prepare complex content and standardize it across the organization

  • Structured, execution-focused, and solution-oriented working style

  • C-level English + B2 German
