Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Executive Manager to join the National Data Office of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time position.
As the Head of Data Governance, you will establish and implement a robust data governance framework to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance across the organisation. You will lead initiatives to monitor and manage data quality, aligning with international directions and organisational objectives. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will identify and remediate data quality issues, implement governance guardrails, co-author data policies and utilise advanced data management tools to enhance data assets for local and international use cases. Your role will be crucial in fostering a culture of data stewardship, embedding governance practices throughout the organisation to support effective, data-driven decision-making.
What does the role look like?
- Collaborate with international teams to lead the design and implementation of a data governance framework that ensures data integrity, quality, protection, and compliance.
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for data governance initiatives, aligning with international direction, business objectives and regulatory requirements where required.
- Mentor, develop and inspire team members in data governance best practices, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data stewardship across the organisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to identify data governance challenges, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective remediation strategies.
- Champion a culture of data stewardship by promoting best practices in data governance across the organisation, ensuring that all employees understand their roles in maintaining data quality and compliance.
- Partner with our Data Platforms, Architecture and Engineering teams to implement robust governance and controls over our Enterprise Data Platform.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in establishing and implementing data governance frameworks and strategies within complex matrix organisational environments.
- Extensive leadership experience with a proven ability to inspire and guide teams, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages professional growth and collaboration to achieve data governance objectives.
- Strong understanding of the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK), demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of data management principles, practices, and frameworks that guide effective data governance and stewardship across the organisation.
- A proactive seeker of feedback who fosters personal and team growth through reflection and continuous improvement
- A clear, impactful communicator who informs, inspires, motivates and influences others to drive team success

Remuneration
- Transparent tiered salary range of $223, 800 - $255, 700 including Superannuation.
