Job Description

The purpose of the role is to provide people insight for our People Directors and business leaders. The role focuses on collecting, analysing, and interpreting workforce data to provide actionable insights that support business strategy and decision-making. Key responsibilities include data collection from internal sources such as employee records and people systems, as well as external sources like labour market data. The role involves using statistical tools for analysis, creating reports and visualisations, and identifying trends to support our People strategies in talent acquisition, retention, and workforce planning. The aim is to provide data-driven insights that enhance employee satisfaction, optimise talent management, and align our People initiatives with organisational goals.

Qualifications

In the role of an Insight Analyst:

  • Analyse and interpret large data sets to understand market trends and drivers. This is crucial for identifying emerging opportunities and potential threats in the market, allowing the organisation to make informed decisions and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Provide actionable insights through detailed data analysis and clear presentations. These insights help shape strategic decisions and operational improvements, ensuring that every department is aligned with the organisation's goals and can act swiftly on new information.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating them into relevant insights. By understanding these elements, the organisation can proactively address risks and leverage opportunities, which is essential for sustaining long-term growth and profitability.
  • Maintain performance tracking and report findings to business areas and the Board. Continuous monitoring of performance allows for timely adjustments and optimisations, keeping the organisation on track to meet its objectives and ensuring transparency and accountability at all levels.
  • Update on competitor activity to keep the business informed. Staying informed about competitors' actions helps the organisation to anticipate market shifts, adjust strategies accordingly, and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Support brand and customer strategy across the business. A strong brand and customer-focused strategy are key to building loyalty and driving sales. This role ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the brand's values and customer expectations, enhancing overall market presence and success.

What you'll bring:

  • HR domain knowledge — Strong understanding of People and talent processes
  • Business acumen — Understanding the business model and its key processes, knowledge of what leaders are doing at a certain point in the business cycle and the decisions they are making
  • Deep understanding of People systems / technology, tools and data
  • Relationship management — Understand and relate to key stakeholders, uncover their priorities and develop a key partnership with those stakeholders
  • Problem solving and influencing — Ability to problem-solve, listen to what leaders are saying, influence them, drive them toward the right tools and address underlying key questions
  • Storytelling and visualisation — Ability to craft a story, narrative arc and visualisations to support and help decision makers move past insights and toward a decision
  • Qualified in / studying towards relevant qualifications for role or equivalent Level 4 Data Analyst or equivalent
  • BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT) Level 4 Diploma in Data Analysis Concepts
  • Dell EMC - DEA- Associate - Data Science and Big Data Analytics
