Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking someone to join our One Risk Store Development Team as Senior Data Engineer to focus on developing systems serving as a data integration and feeding platform, ensuring that calculation results and other data initiated in our Division reaches our downstream clients and meeting all their requirements. The main challenges in this area are the volume of the data (feeding hundreds of gigabytes daily), interfacing with multiple other systems, being exposed to different financial products to a certain extent and being resilient to errors while keeping our SLA-s. The data we feed is critical in fulfilling the regulatory requirements set by the FED, PRA or BAFIN.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Data Engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

What you'll bring to the role:

• 6-12 years of experience in designing and building highly resilient data platforms

• Strong knowledge of data engineering, architecture, and data modelling

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience in platforms like Databricks, Snowflake and Kafka

• Experience on building applications on cloud (AWS or Azure)

• Strong programming skills (Python, optionally Java / Scala) with the willingness to pick up others languages

• Willingness to understand and enhance other people's code

• Being able to work in an environment where developers oversee and work on wider bucket

• Prior experience in working with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, working with PR-s, using JIRA, following the Scrum Agile methodology is an advantage

• Prior experience in developing data or computation intensive (e.g. grid based) backend applications is an advantage

• Bachelors or Masters in any relevant field of IT/Engineering 

• Prior knowledge of financial products is an advantage
