KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general supervision, performs a variety of defined research and laboratory tests and experiments according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules.
- Sets up experiments as prescribed by a principal investigator.
- May be required to participate in laboratory maintenance activities such as sterilization and cleaning of equipment, ordering of supplies, inventory and media preparation.
- Maintains records, files and logs of work performed in laboratory notebooks and computer databases.
- Compiles data and records results of studies for publications, grants and seminar presentations.
- Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents.
- Performs related responsibilities as required by principal investigator.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
The candidate will be working on a data integration/analysis project supervised by Professors Brandon Kitay (Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences), Ying Guo (Rollins BIOS), and Tianwen Ma (Rollins BIOS).The candidate will be working on integration between NeuroFlow and Emory Epic database to examine (1) how the clinical outcomes such as anxiety and depression change over time for patients enrolled in the collaborative care models (CoCMs) at Emory Healthcare (2) what predictors are strongly associated with the change of the above clinical outcomes (3) whether using the NeuroFlow app help patients resolve their psychiatric conditions over time and how (4) what the app usage look like based on user's activity data and how to improve patients' engagement with NeuroFlow app.In addition, the candidate will be working on developing deep learning approaches with multi-task learning of cognitive functions using brain connectome data.The candidate will not have interactions with patients physically, but will gain access to patients' electronic health record information (after completing relevant CITI and HIPPA training). The candidate will primarily work in the Rollins School of Public Health and report to three faculties listed in the beginning.The candidate will spent 20 hours per week for 50 weeks. Of those, 10 hours will be paid for the NeuroFlow/Epic integration work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS in Biostatistics
- Experience with longitudinal data analysis and large/messy electronic health record (EHR).
- Proficiency in R and Python (if databases are huge).
- Proficiency in SQL or equivalent technique to retrieve data with certain conditions.
- Basic understanding in collaborative care model (CoCM) and experience of analyzing clinical outcomes, i.e., PHQ-9 and GAD-7.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
