Job Summary
The Data and Systems Analyst for Seamless Alignment & Integrated Learning Support (SAILS) is responsible for managing and analyzing all program data to support the strategic goals of the SAILS team. As a key member of the SAILS Leadership Team, this role provides analytical insights to inform programmatic decision-making, identifies and resolves system inefficiencies, and helps enhance the end-user experience for participating schools. The Analyst plays a critical role in driving innovation and implementing effective, collaborative solutions.
This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary.
The salary range for this position is $69,297-$86,400, depending on qualifications.
Job Duties
- 35% - PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: • Develop programmatic resources and communications for Field Coordinators, students, facilitators, high schools, school districts, and post-secondary institutions as needed. • Translate program and operational outcomes into actionable data and reporting requirements to inform decision-making. • Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements. • Lead process improvement initiatives by coordinating with stakeholders to implement practical, scalable solutions. • Serve as a bridge between data teams and program leadership to ensure alignment on goals, metrics, and priorities. • Oversee pilot testing and rollouts of analytics tools or process enhancements to ensure usability and effectiveness. Maintain documentation and provide support and training on data tools and process changes to ensure successful adoption. - (Essential)
- 30% - DATA ANALYSIS: • Own metrics gathering and drive processes to operationalize reporting, track performance indicators and build dashboards to proactively highlight opportunities and recommend solutions. • Take ownership of analytical projects end-to-end from extracting and exploring data, generating hypotheses, building a structured analysis, and rigorously evaluating methods and results. • Utilize analytics & complex business modeling to assist the Program Director with fact-based decision-making related to programmatic needs. • Perform ad hoc analysis to predict, measure and interpret student trends and to inform key strategic decisions. - (Essential)
- 30% - SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT: • Design and deliver analytics reports that inform system-level improvements and enhance student success outcomes. • Analyze complex data sets to identify systemic trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for scalable improvement across programs and processes. • Present actionable, data-driven insights to the SAILS Leadership Team to support high-impact decisions, streamline operations, and guide strategic planning. • Integrate disparate data sources to build unified, reliable views of program performance, enabling more effective system monitoring and evaluation. • Collaborate with Academic Affairs Policy and Strategy teams to strengthen institutional research capacity, improve data systems, and inform evidence-based decision-making. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/Statistics/Math or related field
3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or systems support, preferably in an educational or institutional setting
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases and data warehousing.
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions like pivot tables, lookups, and charts.
Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, SLATE) and/or Learning Management Systems (e.g., D2L, Blackboard).
Ability to clean, organize, and analyze datasets to support decision-making and institutional
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
Project management experience and/or certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, or Scrum), with a proven ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
Experience with both higher education and K–12 data systems, workflows, and reporting structures.
Knowledge of education policy, student success metrics, and institutional effectiveness
