AI Research Scientist, Media Research

Meta is seeking researchers to join its media research teams, which are leading advancements in image and video understanding and generation. These efforts are central to our mission and tackle some of the most critical research challenges of our time. Our work spans machine learning, computational statistics, and applied mathematics, with an emphasis on large-scale media understanding and generative models. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of these fields — developing technologies that allow machines to perceive, interpret, and generate rich, expressive media through both cutting-edge research and impactful real-world applications.AI Research Scientist, Media Research Responsibilities

• Conducting research, developing novel approaches, and advancing the theory and application of machine learning methods
• Prototyping and validating research ideas in Python, grounding experiments in data and evaluation scientific methodology
• Collaborating on scientific research with a globally distributed team to push the boundaries of intelligent systems

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science with specialization in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence
• Relevant publication record with first-authorship publications at top-tier conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of hands-on ML research through internships, open-source contributions, or competitive benchmarks
• Hands on experience optimizing and scaling deep learning methods for research experimentation
• Experience working with large-scale computational infrastructure
• Proven track record of scientific programming and reproducible research
