Job Description

About Our Team: This team is dedicated to BI product development and standardization, moving away from BAU delivery to focus on creating a core set of standardized, reusable BI products. These products will empower teams across the organization to efficiently serve business partners. By working proactively, this team aims to enable faster delivery and produce best-in-class solutions across Operations, driving innovation and excellence in business intelligence.

What You Will Do: As a BI Data Modeler, you will focus on designing and maintaining robust semantic data models that serve as the foundation for business intelligence and reporting. You will work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data models are optimized for performance and scalability. Your role will be critical in enabling the organization to access reliable, well-structured data for reporting and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

 - Develop and maintain semantic models for BI tools like Power BI, ensuring they meet performance and usability standards.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data models with business requirements and governance standards.

- Support the development of advanced reporting solutions by providing a strong, scalable data foundation.

- Ensure data models are compliant with company standards and best practices for data governance.

- Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data models.

This role does not support a visa sponsorship. The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at the following locations:

  • Irving, TX

  • Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Four to five years of data analysis experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Expertise in semantic modeling concepts, including star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modeling.

- Proficiency in BI tools like Power BI, with experience in creating and optimizing data models.

- Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data.

- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and other Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot.

- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, with a preference for Azure.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data models for performance.

- Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Ability to effectively define and communicate technical concepts to business line leadership and operations groups.

- Contact center or operational analytics experience is a plus.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.

- Experience working with and managing vendor or third-party relationships.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00 - $120,120.00
