Your Role:

This role is crucial to the Corporate Applications Leadership Team, focusing on defining, developing, and supporting our cutting-edge Telematics & Process Automation technology. The individual in this position offers leadership and guidance to the technical team and is accountable for building and managing a high-performing team.

Your work:

The Manager of Telematics and Process Automation Engineering is responsible for leading a team of engineers and developers to design, develop, and implement Telematics systems and Process Automation solutions. This role involves strategic planning, platform enablement, and ensuring the successful deployment and maintenance of these systems. The Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and drive innovation in Telematics and Process Automation. Additionally, the Manager will manage vendor relationships, including renewals and budget management, collaborate with the BPR function to align on the department's strategic vision, and support platform initiatives while collaborating with the Ops team and security.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of Telematics and Process Automation Architects and Engineers.
  • Set clear goals and expectations, provide mentorship, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on Telematics system design, development, and integration.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Process Automation workflows and processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Telematics and Process Automation.

System Design and Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Oversee the development and testing of Telematics systems and Process Automation solutions.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and meet performance standards.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of Telematics and Process Automation systems.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and testing to identify and resolve issues.

Platform Strategy and Enhancements:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive platform strategy to ensure the Telematics and Automation systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the platform to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Identify and prioritize platform improvements based on user feedback, performance metrics, and emerging technologies
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and tools to improve Telematics and Process Automation capabilities.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure that all systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Implement security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and threats.

Customer Support and Training:

  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
  • Provide secondary support  & feedback as needed in developing and delivering training programs to ensure users are proficient in using Telematics and automation tools.

 Project Management:

  • Coordinate with Product Owners and Product Managers to plan &  execute Telematics and Process automation projects from conception to completion.
  • Lead development of project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or comparable experience
  • 5+ years' experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of experience in Telematics systems and/or Process Automation engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role.
  • Experience with UiPath or similar RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools.
  • Experience with Telematics systems, including GPS, vehicle tracking, and data analytics.

  • Experience in one of CSAA IG’s business lines a plus
  • Experience in the automotive or transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Strong understanding of Telematics technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Leadership and team-building skills.
  • Certifications in UiPath or related RPA tools are a plus.
  • AWS Solution Architect certification(s) are a plus.
  • Certifications in programming languages are a plus.

The national average salary range for this position is $168,300 - $187,000.  However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $151,425 - $224,300.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 17% of eligible pay.
