The Data Team

As a Tapster you will:

•  Analyze transactional, merchant, gateways, acquirers and customer-level financial data to uncover trends, detect anomalies, and support business strategies.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and deep-dive reports on payment volumes, conversion rates, chargebacks, refunds, authorization trends, and reconciliation metrics.
• Create financial analytics frameworks that support revenue forecasting, pricing analysis, and business performance.
• Collaborate with finance, risk, operations, and product teams to inform decisions through data-driven insight.
• Extract and manipulate large datasets using SQL, while maintaining high accuracy and performance.
• Build visual stories using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to help leadership monitor real-time business and financial health.
• Monitor payment flow anomalies, latency, failure rates, and operational bottlenecks across acquirers, issuers, PSPs, and gateway systems.
• Work with reconciliation and settlement teams to validate financial flows and reduce leakage or mismatch.

  What you will bring to the party:

•  4-7 years of experience in a data analytics role, with at least 2+ years in financial services, payments, or fintech.
• Deep understanding of payment flows, transaction lifecycles, authorization logic, and fee structures.
• Strong SQL skills for querying large volumes of transactional data across relational and cloud-based databases.
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Quicksight, metabase, Tableau or Looker) for building dashboards and reporting for leadership.
• Familiarity with reconciliation concepts, clearing & settlement, FX, and merchant payout cycles.
• Knowledge of financial KPIs such as approval rates, conversion ratios, MDR, net revenue, and operational breakage.
• Comfort working with cloud platforms such as AWS (Redshift, Athena), GCP (BigQuery), or Snowflake.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
