Job Title: Software Engineer Sr Staff - Automation/Regression Test Architect

Experience: 12+ Years

Location: Bangalore

As a Test Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality and performance of our next-generation networking solutions across AWAN Products (MX, ACX, and PTX platforms), Multi-Feature Testing (MFT), and JVD (Juniper Validated Design) testing. You will drive the end-to-end test strategy, leveraging advanced Gen AI/ML-based automation to ensure robustness, scalability, and reliability that meet both internal goals and customer expectations.

You will collaborate with the industry’s top talent, working across cross-functional teams to architect comprehensive testing frameworks and resolve complex issues with precision. This is an opportunity to lead innovation in testing methodologies and deliver real value to global network infrastructure.

 Key Responsibilities

  1. Architect Scalable Regression Testing Solutions
    Design and implement end-to-end regression testing architectures for AWAN products—including MX, ACX, and PTX platforms for both Multi-Feature Testing (MFT) and Juniper Validated Design (JVD) testing, delivering comprehensive, actionable insights that exceed internal requirements and add significant value to our customers.
  2. Strategic and Holistic Networking Product Validation
    Lead the creation of long-term, robust test strategies across AWAN platforms, ensuring the sustained quality, performance, and scalability of our networking products.
  3. Advanced Debugging and Issue Diagnosis
    Expert-level debugging skills to precisely isolate root causes of failures quickly, distinguishing between software defects, hardware anomalies, and configuration issues within complex MX, ACX, and PTX environments.
  4. 360-Degree Technical Assessment and Optimization
    Conduct thorough evaluations of regression test results for MFT, JVD, and platform-specific testing efforts, identifying opportunities to optimize test coverage, reduce operational and capital expenditures, and improve overall testing efficiency.
  5. End-to-End Test Workflow Ownership Across Platforms
    Maintain deep expertise in regression testing workflows across multiple technology levels and diverse platforms—driving alignment and consistency in testing for AWAN prodcuts.
  6. Resolution of Complex Testing Challenges
    Leverage extensive experience to resolve intricate issues in MFT/JVD regression testing pipelines, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of product quality and reliability.
  7. Enhanced Reporting for Regression Outcomes
    Innovate and restructure regression test result reporting mechanisms for MFT, JVD, and platform tests to deliver clear, comprehensive, and trustworthy insights to stakeholders and customers.
  8. Collaborative Analysis with Cross-Functional Teams
    Work closely with Development, Test, and Automation teams to analyse test coverage gaps, drive root cause analysis, and improve debugging efficiency in complex network environments.
  9. JUNOS/EVO Platform Expertise
    Utilize prior experience with JUNOS/EVO systems to inform test design, debugging, and validation efforts across AWAN platforms for MFT/JVD test cycles.
  10. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Continuous Improvement
    Lead RCA initiatives to identify coverage gaps within MFT and JVD regression suites, implementing corrective actions that enhance test effectiveness and product robustness.
  11. Leadership in Test Automation Frameworks
    Spearhead the design, enhancement, and scaling of automation frameworks and tools using Python, Go, and GenAI/ML technologies—accelerating regression testing cycles for MX, ACX, PTX, and related programs.
  12. Mentorship and Innovation Advocacy
    Serve as a thought leader and mentor on emerging testing technologies—including Generative AI and machine learning—fostering a culture of innovation and continuous professional growth within the test organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication Engineering (CS/ECE).
  • 12–15 years of hands-on experience in network product testing, with a strong focus on L2/L3 protocols, BNG, and platform-level validation.
  • Proven experience in Multi-Feature Testing (MFT) and Product Development Testing, functional regression test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Generative AI, data mining, and machine learning techniques to automate test coverage analysis, defect prediction, and intelligent test case generation.
  • Deep understanding of routing and networking protocols, including ISIS, OSPF, BGP, QoS, Firewall, Multicast, MPLS, VPLS, NGMVPN, L2/L3 VPNs, EVPN, and VXLAN.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP protocol suite (ARP, IP, ICMP, IGMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, FTP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Juniper Controllers and the JUNOS/EVO operating systems is highly desirable.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python and Go, with the ability to understand, adapt, and enhance automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with traffic generation tools such as IXIA and Spirent for performance, scale, and functional testing.
  • Possession of Juniper or industry-recognized networking certifications (e.g., JNCIE, JNCIP, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of Software/testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, defect tracking, metrics collection, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills for root cause isolation and issue resolution in complex networking environments.
  • Self-driven and proactive with excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • A quick learner, with the ability to rapidly adapt to evolving technologies and new test strategies.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a cross-functional, agile team, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent presentation and documentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical topics to diverse audiences.
