The Data Strategy Program Manager manages multiple teams through other managers with in-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing, involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Project Management area by applying a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas as well as underlying business principles.

  • Provides strategic direction and feedback with respect to initiative or project creation, alignment to business goals, stakeholder management, executive communications and the like.

  • Manages project team which could include matrix management of director level, senior project manager level and other staff, as appropriate.

  • Builds and manages relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads.

  • Collaborates with senior management on cross functional areas and other projects, as appropriate identify and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects of work.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition meets business objectives and with project sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.

  • Manages the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including Senior Management, on a timely basis.

  • Identifies risks which impact project delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

  • Leads the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross-functional macro level topics within/across programs and with Senior Management.

  • Leads the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established programs of work.

  • Works with stakeholders to ensure program scope definition meet business objectives and partner with Program Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.

  • Drives adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery and leverage across the program.

  • Assists program team in negotiating for resources owned by other departments in order ensure the program is completed within stated time lines.

  • Directs the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.

  • Directs the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

  • Manages multiple teams of employees and coach and evaluate performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, promotion etc.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience, including 8+ years' managerial experience

  • Demonstrate a consistent track record having worked as a Program or Project Manager, Lead, PMO or department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional projects.

  • Previous program/project management, consulting, technology and/or management.

  • CAPM, PMP, PgMP and/or MBA are a plus

  • A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business.

  • Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication / negotiation may be necessary.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
