As a Data Scientist you will be responsible for the delivery of analytics and insights solutions to solve business problems using data science techniques.   

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate an ability to understand business challenges and develop insight–driven analytical solutions for decision making. You must leverage combination skills across data engineering, data science, business insights and stakeholder management to create customer and commercially focused outcomes.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Execute analytics activities to drive business benefit and customer experience.  Analytics activities will include (but not limited to) Data Wrangling, Predictive Modelling, Clustering, Text Mining, Data Visualisation, Simulation and Optimisation
  • Produce insights & provide recommendations to support strategic initiatives, campaigns and the broader business strategy to business stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Operations, Sales and other business functions
  • Collaborate with BI and Data Engineering team to operationalise analytics deliveries in line with Latitude Data and Analytics Strategy
  • Liaise closely with business stakeholders to translate complex business problems into Data and Analytics solutions.  Ensure that challenges are raised to the appropriate channels in a timely manner
  • Represent Analytics & Insight team in business Squads/Tribes and deliver customer insights to support the direction of business objectives
  • Leverage analytics best practices internally and externally, as well as building team Analytics assets and develop team’s analytics capabilities

About you:

  • Educated to minimum of degree level or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Engineering or other numerate related discipline
  • 3+ year’s work experience in an analytics role, and hands-on experience training machine learning models
  • Strong coding skills using SQL, Python (or R) and SAS
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools such as Power BI, Datorama, Tableau or Qlik for data visualisation and insights presentation
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering significant business benefits using Machine Learning and AI Algorithms and Tools
  • Experience of transforming the raw data into a format which can be consumed by Analytics and Operational process
  • Experience in management of large datasets to ensure integrity, quality, accuracy of data for analysis 
  • Logical thinker, strong analytical and mathematical skills, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for deriving insights from data
  • Strong commercial acumen in the interpretation of data and the ability to link outcomes to key business drivers.
  • Able to mentor and coach less experienced analysts to increase their analytics skills and technical competencies
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven capability to articulate and present complex information to senior management

Desirable

  • Experience within a financial services environment
  • Experience with Dataiku, or AWS Analytic/Data tools will be a plus
  • Skills in digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics are advantageous
