Details of the Division and Team:

The Technology, Data, and Innovation (TDI) division is responsible for driving an integrated IT, data, and security agenda across the bank.

The function is responsible for implementing the bank’s technology strategy focused on strengthening engineering expertise, introducing an agile delivery model, reducing administrative overheads, de-coupling assets within our IT estate for faster, cost-efficient deployments, as well as modernizing the bank’s IT infrastructure with long-term investments and benefiting from cloud computing.

Within TDI, Investment Banking, Fixed Income Currencies Technology - the Singapore Rates & Credit Production Team are responsible for maintaining application stability across the Rates, Credit and Repo Front Office Businesses.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining overall availability of the trading platform

  • Responding to user queries and requests in a timely manner; being a Subject Matter Expert

  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving application/infrastructure issues impacting the business; whilst ensuring communication updates provided at regular intervals

  • Ensuring internal postmortems include strategic follow-ups, in a bid to reduce repeat occurrences of issues & incidents

  • Identifying and implementing potential automation opportunities such as self-healing scripts to reduce manual tasks, increase efficiency, and improve resiliency

  • Conducting Start of Week/Day checks, observing and acting on monitoring alerts, and keeping oversight of high-profile technology processes, particularly those relating to exchange obligations

  • Acting as the gatekeeper to production; critically reviewing all changes prior to deployments and conducting post-change validation checks (may include some Out of Hours activities)

  • Working closely with Project Managers, Functional Business Analysts, and Developers to introduce new functionality and enhancements to the trading platform

  • Setting up new & maintaining existing Monitoring environments; strong focus on observability for early issue detection of latency, capacity, etc

  • Participating in Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Plan exercises (may include some Out of Hours activities)

  • Active participation in local, regional, and global process improvement initiatives

  • Engagement in wider Technology forums, ie Engineering Days, Hackathons, Data Science events, etc.

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of financial services industry experience, including within the Front Office Application Support domain.

  • Proven technical skills (Unix, SQL, Python, Grafana, Splunk, Geneos, Prometheus, etc).

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

  • Working experience in Fixed Income Currencies Businesses such as Rates, Credit & Repo.

  • Experience across the ITIL framework in Change, Incident, and Problem Management; as well as awareness of Agile concepts across the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Critical thinking mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment

  • Good verbal and written skills, to communicate effectively with business users, technology peers, and senior management alike

  • Self-motivated, proactive in nature, and ability to work independently; as well as collaboratively in a global organisation

  • Prior leadership experience
