Backend Engineer

We are seeking hybrid Backend Engineer to join our team Argentina.
In this role, you'll contribute to tackling the complexities of agriculture by helping to build the fastest growing Agricultural FinTech platform in North America. You will support the development of robust back-end services and gain experience with our technology stack. You will collaborate with Data Science and other engineering teams under the guidance of senior engineers. We seek a motivated and enthusiastic engineer with a good understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, an eagerness to learn, and a foundational knowledge of backend development, particularly with Python. A commitment to quality, testability, and learning best practices is key. 
Work Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to software projects under the guidance of senior engineers, ensuring timely delivery of assigned tasks.
• Assist in the design and development of technical specifications.
• Develop, test, and deploy backend code for assigned projects, primarily using Python, across our software lifecycle.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to codebase maintenance and development.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and business teams.
• Perform unit testing, assist in preparing project documentation, and help provide development estimates.
• Continuously develop engineering skills through challenging projects, mentorship, and collaboration.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of programming experience with a good understanding of CS fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms).
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with database concepts (e.g., relational databases like Postgres, MySQL) and SQL.
• Basic understanding of the web stack (e.g., HTTP, REST APIs).
• Understanding of testing principles and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• ask ownership, goal-oriented, good communication skills, and a strong desire to learn and adapt.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git (e.g., GitHub).
• Exposure to Docker and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
• Awareness of security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of programming experience or relevant internship experience.
• Experience with Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI) is a plus.
• Passion for code quality and developer productivity.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS) is a plus but not required.
• Experience working in Fintech or a Finance-related software company.
