  • Perform data cleaning and ensure the accuracy and quality of data within the Intellectual Property databases.
  • Design various utility scripts in R and Python for model analysis.
  • Utilize tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to visualize data, presenting findings as charts, maps, and other graphics.
  • Communicate data insights effectively to the IP team, managers, and executives through reports and presentations. 
  • Collect data from IP docketing system. Analyze docketing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization to improve patent and trademark prosecution efficiency.
  • Collect and categorize data from annuity payment system, generate data reports, and analyze reports to facilitate expense saving.
  • Perform patent award data analysis. Analyze and benchmark industry’s award to improve invention disclosures from various engineering functions.
  • Conduct patent & trademark prosecution expenses analysis and identify areas for improvements inside IP team and/or outside (US and non US) patent & trademark law firms. 
  • Lead internal coordination efforts to compile and provide "proof of use" evidence for company trademarks in collaboration with external law firms (US and non US). 
  • Conduct aged issued patent analysis and their possible applications to image sensor products.
  • Develop summarization algorithms to support patent analysis.
  • Participate in reviewing Invention Disclosure Forms (IDFs). 
  • Offer insights to motivate engineer, enhancing IDF submission numbers. 
  • Effectively present technical insights to the patent committee with engineer, aiding in the clear articulation of new inventions. 
 Job Requirements:  Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. Required knowledge or skills of:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of study designs and statistical analysis conventions.
  • Analyzing data to answer business questions.
  • Presenting and reporting analysis result with visualization tools, such as Tableau and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning tasks. 
  • Schema design and dimensional data modeling.
  • Familiarity with algorithm design for modeling and analytics.
  • Software applications with computer vision techniques, motion sensor, and statistical analysis methods.
  • Ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of data.
 Annual base salary for this role in California, US is expected to be between $148,699 - $150,000. Actual pay will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant skills and experience, and the pay of employees in the similar role.
