Who You Are…

As Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, coding, testing, and deploying a variety of technical reports/projects to translate business operations requirements into technology solutions.

This Position…

Some examples of the work you might do includes:

  • Maintains, writes and runs queries and stored procedures in SQL databases.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves database issues.
  • Creates and modifies business reports using various reporting tools.
  • Designs, creates, manages, and fulfills requests for reports and information from internal stakeholders.
  • Works with end users to understand business processes and outline report requirements for projects.
  • Monitors IT ticketing system and responds to users requests for support with guidance from supervisor.
  • Supports all acquisition efforts to migrate data into Limbach’s ERP.

What You Need…

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, and at least two (2) years of experience in report writing and development OR Five (5) years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong technical background in Business Intelligence development utilizing SQL Server architecture/reporting (SSRS), PowerBI, ETL (SSIS), Microsoft Excel, and Crystal Reports.
  • Ability to question and validate data quality in reports.
  • Capacity to understand complex problems and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with non-technical people.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize, communicate, and organize projects of varying complexity, frequently under deadline pressure and minimal supervision.
  • Must be adaptable to change and quickly learn new software and technologies.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn advanced SQL skills.
  • Ability to travel up 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Viewpoint Vista experience.

Work Environment: 

  • This position operates primarily in an office environment and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

Physical Demands: 

  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion of up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
