Outcomes

Deliver Scalable and Insightful Data Solutions:
  • Build and maintain reliable and efficient data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and practices.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers on projects such as building a data warehouse, data lake, or unified analytics layer.
Strengthen Data Infrastructure and Governance While Empowering Data Driven Decision Making:
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Participate in discussions around data architecture, storage strategies, and security.
  • Create foundational datasets and models that improve visibility into KPIs across teams.
  • Enable proactive identification of unusual customer performance and drive early interventions.
Support Business Stakeholders and Clients:
  • Assist client-facing teams by automating and scaling the production of regular performance reports.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data investigations to answer business questions quickly and accurately.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data solutions.

This role is ideal for someone early in their data engineering journey, with a passion for data infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cross-functional collaboration. At GTI, we foster an action-oriented culture that values curiosity, ownership, and enabling each other to deliver excellence.
  • Curious and enthusiastic about data engineering, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms.
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable mediating between business, Tech, and Product teams.
  • Friendly and confident; able to work with colleagues from a wide range of data literacy levels.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, but collaborative and excited to work in a team environment.
Work Experience, Knowledge & Skills

This role bridges foundational engineering skills with strong business understanding. While we don’t expect mastery, you should bring a willingness to learn, a structured problem-solving mindset, and a foundation in data systems.

Essential
  • Proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
  • Basic understanding of data modelling and ETL/ELT concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data services or eagerness to learn (especially on AWS).
  • Interest in developing pipelines, data warehouse solutions, and scalable analytics infrastructure.
  • Experience or coursework in one programming language (preferably Python).
  • Solid grasp of data quality, version control (e.g., Git), and reproducibility principles.
Desirable
  • Exposure to AWS data services relevant to data engineering, such as:
  • Amazon Redshift (data warehousing),
  • Kinesis (real-time data streaming),
  • SageMaker (model training and deployment),
  • S3 and Glue (data storage and ETL).
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Looker, or Google Data Studio.
  • Experience with web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Basic understanding of event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka.
