We are currently looking for a
AI/ML Model Developer
in our New York City office, as an
Associate

The Risk Analytics team has global responsibility to develop and maintain scenario design, credit, and market models for the management of credit and market risk exposure arising from the Firm's business activities. The group also provides support for internal clients with quantitative analyses and solutions.

As part of the Risk Analytics group, the Risk Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications team is responsible implementing the Firm's Risk Management AI strategy.



Responsibilities

As an AI/ML model developer role in the Risk AI Applications team, you will:
> Design and develop AI applications to enhance the Firm's risk management processes and provide new insights for risk managers
> Contribute to software development using Python and AI/ML models, focusing on natural language processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4
> Collaborate with risk managers, model reviewers, and other stakeholders
> Operate as part of a global team


You will actively contribute as a hands-on developer while closely collaborating with team. > A graduate degree (master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience in AI/ML, software engineering, or related fields
> Proven track record in computer programming
> Familiarity with financial concepts and products.
> Demonstrated interest in AI/ML concepts
> Exposure to modern development best practices, including unit testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
> Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and creative problem-solving skills.
> Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal English, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

> Strong proficiency in Python programming
> Familiarity with financial models

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
