Strategy & Business Modelling Consultant

In this role, you will:

Work within a small, high-impact internal team that partners with leaders from some of the world’s leading organisations—Global 100 and 500 companies—to understand how their businesses operate and what drives their strategic choices.

You’ll conduct research, analyse client data, and help conceptualise and model the strategic and financial dynamics that become the backbone of our bespoke business simulations. Every simulation is built from scratch to reflect each client’s real-world challenges, decisions, and trade-offs.

You’ll also present your concepts to clients, help manage the simulation build, and be part of the team that delivers the final experience with client participants—typically senior leaders.

Variety is core to this role. You’ll work on multiple projects across industries and geographies, collaborating with different BTS teams along the way. Travel to client locations (for simulation delivery) averages around 20% of the time. Key Responsibilities

• Partner with BTS consultants and clients to understand strategic goals and business realities.

• Lead the research, design, and development of bespoke business and financial models.

• Translate complex strategy and data into clear, engaging simulation components.

• Present models and conceptual frameworks to senior internal and client stakeholders.

• Collaborate across workstreams to integrate simulations into broader leadership development programs.

• Contribute to project management and innovation in modelling tools and methodologies.

• Occasionally travel to support simulation delivery with client participants.

Key Qualifications

• A good degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, economics, science, technology, or data science.

• A PhD is a plus, but we’ve successfully brought in candidates from a range of academic backgrounds.

• Strong business and financial acumen with a strategic mindset.

• A highly analytical approach to solving problems and conceptualising business challenges.

• Demonstrated business modelling capability using tools like Excel, Python, or R.

• Effective communication skills—able to simplify complexity for clients and colleagues.

• Diligence, adaptability, and a methodical working style.

• Confidence and professionalism in client and team settings.

• Team player with a proactive, collaborative spirit.

We will consider PhDs or experienced hires for more senior entry points depending on background and fit.
