Under direction of the Strategy Analytics Manager, this position is responsible for: conducting data analysis to support bank strategy, including identifying and evaluating opportunities and tactics to achieve strategic goals; presenting data analysis findings to key stakeholders; generating new ideas and analytic solutions to meet bank goals; promoting the bank’s analytics culture and knowledge sharing; supports Team Development through leadership, coaching, and networking; and supporting the development and execution of performance tracking reports.

  • Conducts and presents data analysis to support bank strategy and identify opportunities.
    •    Partners with business managers to help refine strategic context, frame an actionable analysis, and solicit a commitment to action.
    •    Develops and follows data collection methods to accurately query and validate bank and external data, regardless of data source.
    •    Efficiently and accurately processes and summarizes the relevant data.
    •    Trains other analysts on data processing tools, as needed.
    •    Validates, evaluates, and thinks critically about the summarized data and how it fits into the strategic context.
    •    Clearly and concisely presents the relevant context, findings, and recommendations.
  • Supports Analytics Development and Culture.
    •    Works independently on idea generation and analytic solutions to meet bank goals.
    •    Supports and assists other analysts’ idea generation and development.
    •    Investigates, resolves, and documents concerns regarding data quality or documentation; shares resolution with relevant business unit(s) and analysts.
    •    Displays a desire to improve upon analytics skill set and finds opportunities to do so.
    •    Further develops the bank’s information and analytics culture.
  • Supports Team Development.
    •    Serves as a source of development for other analysts by offering help, involving in projects, and encouraging growth.
    •    Develops a network across the bank to get questions answered quickly.
    •    Keeps a pulse on current and past bank projects to help facilitate efficiency and information sharing.
    •    Fosters a positive and collaborative environment between analysts.
    •    Promotes Team Values and reaffirms the team’s direction and purpose.
  • Supports the execution and development of performance tracking reports.
    •    Partners with business managers to help refine performance tracking ideas.
    •    Leads report creation and development for business units; supports other analysts in their report creation.
    •    Automates complex reporting processes and advocates for alternative solutions to recurring processes that are not eligible for automation.
    •    Understands the purpose of each report and continually adapts existing reporting to ensure the most relevant metrics are tracked.
    •    Identifies opportunities to consolidate or reduce reporting.
    •    Very effectively identifies and notes key trends with report delivery.
  • Fulfills ad-hoc data requests from executive management.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
  • Ability to learn to use other software and applications as needed (including syntax-based applications).
  • Outstanding analytical thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Highly proactive, resourceful, and takes initiative.
  • Detail-oriented and conscientious.
  • Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
  • Desire for continual professional development, especially of analytic and leadership skills.
  • Able to occasionally work flexible hours as needed.
