This role combines hands-on ML engineering with strategic planning, technical leadership, and coordination of team workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Translate data science outputs into production-grade machine learning pipelines using Python and AWS.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Data Scientist to ensure handoff from modeling to deployment is smooth and robust. Design and maintain ML infrastructure using AWS SageMaker, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, etc.
- Define and own technical architecture for model deployment, monitoring, and retraining workflows.
- Manage technical sprint planning, task assignment, and capacity planning for the ML engineering team.
- Drive code quality, reproducibility, and automation in model training and deployment.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in ML development, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or planning role.
- Proven experience with Python, including common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
- Experience planning, assigning, and following up work using Linear (or similar tools like Jira), with a structured approach to sprint planning and progress tracking.
- Experience managing backlogs, sprint planning, and resource allocation for technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, especially SageMaker, S3, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining ML models in production environments.
- Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerized environments (e.g., Docker).
- Strong communication skills and ability to align cross-functional teams.
MERITORIOUS SKILLS
