(Senior) Software / Machine Learning Engineer

Join our team as a (Senior) Software or Machine Learning Engineer and help build the next generation of Hoxhunt's human-first cybersecurity platform. We are growing rapidly and expanding our startup-like AI development team to support our ambitious goals.  You’ll work on meaningful a product, with state-of-the-art LLMs and novel technical challenges in a small, high-speed team with colleagues who are just as excited about building something valuable as you are.

What you'll do

This role involves designing, developing, and deploying AI and machine learning (ML) models to support our software development teams in incorporating AI and agents to their product areas. You will be responsible for creating scalable APIs to integrate these models into various products, and ensuring their seamless integration and high performance.

• Design, train and deploy AI features leveraging state-of-the-art LLMs and traditional ML
• Develop and maintain robust APIs for model access and integration with other systems
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers and other stakeholders to implement meaningful AI features
• Continuously evaluate and improve AI model performance and system reliability
• Drive end-to-end projects from concept to deployment, ensuring successful completion and business impact
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to raise the bar
• Continuously participate in improving team’s processes

We’re looking for

We are looking for a skilled machine learning engineer with strong software engineering background or a skilled software engineer with experience in, or strong interest towards, AI/ML to join our AI development team. You want to be part of the AI revolution, and feel comfortable in a fast-evolving environment with a focus on continuous learning and impact. 

Skills you need to succeed in this role:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• At least 3-5 years of experience in software development in a production environment
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Strong understanding of data manipulation, analysis and querying
• Comfortable with managing technical uncertainty
• Proven ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

It’s a plus if you’ve worked with:

• Developing and implementing generative AI systems
• Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Machine learning operations practices
• Developing and deploying ML models at scale

Location and salary range

This role is based out of our headquarters in Helsinki.
The salary range for the position is €5000–€6500, depending on your skills and experience.
