This role is crucial in ensuring our AI development processes, tools, and infrastructure are optimised for efficiency, reliability and scalability.
The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background, coupled with excellent leadership and management skills. You will be responsible for overseeing our AI & DevOps teams and driving continuous improvement across our AI development lifecycle
Essential Skills
- Strong expertise in AI/ML engineering practices: ability to work with large, complex datasets, experience with data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (eg: GitLab, AWS, Azure) and tools for scalable AI solutions (eg. Docker, Kubernetes)
- General understanding of Databases
- Proven ability to design and manage CI/CD pipelines for AI models, monitoring and automation of AI workflows
- Knowledge of AI-related data privacy, ethical AI guidelines, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to align AI initiatives with business goals, prioritise projects effectively and drive measurable outcomes
- Solid knowledge of software engineering principles: understanding of clean code practices and agile development methodologies.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation.

- Manages and records the risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies on a project and executes formal change control standards and governance.
- Builds trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their drivers and negotiate positive outcomes.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of AI products and services in terms of quality, cost and schedule covering a single medium complexity product or a portfolio of products.
- Leads AI strategy and delivery in partnership with business and technical teams, defining AI/ML goals that align with business outcomes and product roadmaps
- Build and leads cross-functional AI teams including data scientists, ML engineers and data engineers
- Evaluates and integrates external AI platform and tools, ensuring security, compliance and cost-effectiveness
- Ensures the delivery organisation is properly resourced with appropriate planning for growth, and all the delivery teams have been trained in appropriate AI methodologies and understand their role in the organisation
- Innovates in partnership with product management function and senior AI technology roles to deliver revenue growth
- Drives cost reduction of delivery and maintenance through technology and process innovation
- Ensures AI models in production meet fairness, transparency and align with responsible AI principles
- Establishes processes for continuous evaluation and re-training of models to avoid drift and ensure sustained performance
- Implements a governance framework for AI technology delivery and to ensure appropriate reporting and remedial actions are being undertaken to keep programs on track
- Develops high performing and diverse AI teams, with clear succession plans.
- Must interact with global teams in time zones spanning UK, US, APAC areas.
- Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews.
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like AI automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Participate in Project related activities to meet operational needs.
- Provide a high level of customer service, whilst working under pressure.
- Follow and adhere to established Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management procedures.
