Reporting to the Manager of Emerging Technologies, this role is pivotal in shaping, developing, and maintaining the processes, infrastructure, and systems supporting WSI’s Data & Analytics Program. You’ll lead efforts in data architecture, modelling, integration, storage, governance, and analysis, ensuring best practices are upheld to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions in a greenfield airport environment.

This role requires a solid understanding of cloud services, preferably Azure, coupled with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric or similar data and analytics platforms, tools, and processes. Additionally, experience with integration platforms such as MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, CloudHub, Solace MQ, or similar will be highly valued, as this position will work closely with the WSI integration team leveraging these technologies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience in data and analytics tools including Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Azure, CoPilot, and DevOps, or similar. Experience in integration tools or desire to upskill in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, CloudHub, Solace MQ and SFTP.

  • Adaptability and Learning: Quickly learns and adapts to new technologies and methodologies, staying ahead of industry trends and best practices.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Effectively collaborates within cross-functional teams, including technical, non-technical and business stakeholders, with an ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • Innovation and Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies and solves complex data-related challenges, contributing innovative solutions that drive project success.

  • Agile Methodologies: Embraces and excels in agile methodologies, participating actively in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery and improvement.

  • Platform Administration: Ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of WSI’s Data & Analytics Platform to support our data asset and business use cases.

  • Data Governance: Maintain and evolve robust data governance practices, including a comprehensive data glossary, dictionary, and catalogue. Ensures data quality, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

About You

  • 3-5 years’ experience building cloud-based data solutions, preferably using Microsoft tools.

  • A proven track record in leading projects using Agile/Scrum methods.

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field; a master’s degree would be highly regarded.

  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications relating to Azure, Fabric, and Power Bi.

  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics to build scalable and efficient data pipelines.

  • Ability to design, build, and deploy data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support AI, ML, and BI initiatives.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, R and DAX.

  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (Azure) and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).

  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and Azure SQL Database.

  • Experience with Anypoint Platform, CloudHub, Solace MQ or similar other messaging system will be considered a strong plus.

  • Ability to collaborate within and across teams of different technical knowledge.

  • Expert problem-solving skills, including debugging skills, allowing the determination of sources of issues in unfamiliar code or systems, and the ability to recognize and solve repetitive problems.

  • Ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options.

  • Clear and sound judgement leveraging data to support decision-making.  

  • Highly effective working independently and as part of the team.
