Job Brief (Purpose): Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Reporting Data Enablement, the Data Quality Manager will be a key leader within the Regulatory Reporting team. This role involves strategic oversight and development of the regulatory reporting team’s data quality initiatives including data ownership, data quality management, critical data elements (CDEs), and data inventories.  The manager will drive innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement to ensure efficient and effective regulatory reporting in alignment with the bank’s data governance program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage regulatory reporting data governance processes
  • Provide strategic guidance, oversight, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
  • Ensure full compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, driving a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Comply fully with all Key’s compliance policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain data quality documentation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of data processing inputs and cross-report data relationships of  regulatory reports such as RWA, FR2052A, FFIEC031, FRY9C, FDIC 370, etc.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective governance, oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proactively identify, remediate, and escalate potential gaps in reporting compliance or data deficiencies, driving strategic solutions.
  • Collaborate with various business and technical teams to develop innovative solutions for regulatory reports
  • Monitor and assess changes to the business or regulatory requirements that impact reporting.
  • Implement agile, flexible, and scalable solutions that anticipate growth-based reporting changes.
  • Lead multiple work efforts and high priority activities simultaneously, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring successful outcomes.

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in banking, treasury, or financial services, working with customer data within major banking products
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to take ownership of processes and work independently and creatively in a remote, digital environment
  • Ability to understand and interpret client requests/needs, and respond to questions with clear and effective answers, and give cohesive presentations.
  • Excellent workload management, influencing, and delegation skills to implement solutions and achieve business goals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of urgency, attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to work and communicate with personnel at all levels in the Corporation, including Finance and Technology professionals and executives of different and varied levels of backgrounds.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements.
  • Experience dealing with complex and large data sets from multiple sources, analyzing it for key factors and providing clear and easily implementable recommendations.
  • Action oriented with continuous improvement mindset; takes initiative to challenge current processes and implement change
  • Proven team player, willing to assist others as needed to ensure that group deadlines are met, and quality standards are achieved
  • Proven ability to develop and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and regulators
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of data governance and regulatory reporting data elements
  • Working knowledge of the technical aspects of regulatory reporting, including data sourcing and data mapping
  • Experience working with data warehousing in the banking or financial services industry
  • Familiarity with bank regulatory reports such as FFIEC 031, FRY9C, FR2052a, FDIC 370
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (SQL, SAS EG, Tableau)
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Jira
  • Knowledge of KeyBank systems, both legacy product accounting and other supporting or reporting systems such as data warehouses or data marts
  • Experienced preparing data-driven regulatory reports such as FRY-14M, FR Y-14Q, FR 2052a, FDIC 370, etc.
  • Strong financial and/or accounting acumen.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $103,000 to $113,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
