Who We’re Looking For 

Toyota’s OneTech organization is looking for a smart, passionate, and highly motivated Technologist to join our Intelligent Automation team who has a keen sense of ownership and a strong engineering, automation mindset. As an Observability Engineer: Incident & Change automation, you will be responsible for building and implementing automation solutions that would improve TMNA’s Digital Employee Experience (DEX) 

The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, build, and implement digital automation solutions working in collaboration with SMEs across all OneTech departments. The candidate will work across the OneTech to deploy automation solutions in accordance with TMNA standards. 

The position requires deep technical thinking, hands-on technical skills to develop and deploy automation solutions. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are highly detail-oriented and take pride in their deliverables. Ability to work with technical SMEs and product owners to deploy overall automation solutions.  Ability to learn and implement new solutions using Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), cloud, and other automation technologies. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the End User Experience & On Prem infrastructure department’s objective to Increase Intelligent Automation with modern, automated, software-driven self-service-based solutions. 

What You’ll Be Doing:  

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital employee experience strategy that aligns with the company's goals and values 

  • Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) 

  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications 

  • Develop and configure integration workflows, message routing, and transformation rules using visual development tools or programming languages 

  • Implement RESTful and SOAP-based APIs for internal and external consumption 

  • Work closely with system administrators and security teams to ensure proper configuration and management of integration platforms. 

  • Conduct performance monitoring and tuning of integration processes to ensure optimal system performance and scalability. 

  • Perform testing and debugging of integration solutions, including error handling and exception management 

  • Document technical specifications, system architecture, and integration design patterns 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in integration technologies, iPaaS platforms, and API development 

  • Develop and implement endpoint automation solutions that support Windows and Mac platforms,  

  • Conduct research and analyze data to understand employee needs and behaviors, identify pain points, and propose solutions that enhance the overall experience 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that endpoint automation solutions align with business objectives and IT security policies  

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of digital employee experience initiatives, and continuously improve the employee experience based on feedback and insights 

  • Monitor and maintain endpoint automation solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that all systems are up to date and compliant with industry standards  

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate end-users and IT staff on the effective use of endpoint automation tools and technologies  

  • Participate in security audits, risk assessments, and other security-related initiatives  

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. 

  • Proven experience in designing and developing integration solutions using APIs 

  • Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful and SOAP-based web services and API security 

  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Java, Python, JavaScript or .NET 

  • Experience with integration patterns and standards such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), pub-sub (Publish-subscribe), and point-to-point integrations 

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud 

  • Solid understanding of enterprise integration technologies, such as XML, JSON, and web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS)  

  • Experience working within a team in an agile work environment 

Added Bonus If You Have

  • In-depth understanding of the latest tools and technologies in the AI space 

  • Experience with integration with ServiceNow, Nexthink, Moveworks, AlgoSec, Itential, GitHub presence with contribution and/or collaboration with open-source communities 

  • Diverse knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization  

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely and effective manner
