Senior Data Engineer (Azure) - (Barcelona)

About the role:

The position is a hands-on Data Engineer role, with a primary focus on developing Data solutions: collection, transport, maintenance/curation and access to PayRetailers corporate data assets.

Your responsibilities:

• Build data acquisition process from various data sources like databases, files, REST APIs, streams
• Transform large datasets using advanced analytical solutions and data engineering techniques
• Create highly optimized analytical data models and data sets for reporting, analytics and Machine Learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including on the client side, to discuss data-driven findings and take actionable items on technical issues.
• Participate in troubleshooting and managing data related incidents.

About you:

• At least +4 years of exprience in Microsoft Azure cloud Tech stack: Databricks, Data Lake, Data factory. Other components/cloud providers are a plus.
• Proficiency in OOP Python.
• Experience in SQL (any dialect).
• Experience in data modeling
• Data visualization skills are preferred, but not mandatory.
• Excellent problem-solving, teamwork and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate data architectures, design and technical proposals.
• Valuable:
• Experience with CI/CD and administration
• Snowflake, Airflow, Salesforce integration
