About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic AI Automation Engineer to join our growing team and drive the strategic implementation of AI and automation solutions across our organization. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering and working closely with the VP of Enablement, you will play a vital role in helping to define the way AI and automation unlocks value across the company. Your role involves understanding business challenges, proposing AI applications that drive practical, real-world outcomes, and delivering integrated AI and automation solutions that transform how we operate.

This engineer’s key responsibilities are: 

• Collaborate with CS, Support, Operations, and Enablement to identify high-value use cases across the company and lead the design of AI-driven solutions that address internal, operational challenges.
• Translate complex business needs into technical designs and scalable automation solutions.
• Shape solution architectures and technical vision in collaboration with company technology leaders.
• Optimize AI models and define evaluation frameworks to ensure continuous improvement, efficiency, and real-world performance in enterprise environments.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to understand strategic challenges, align AI solutions to measurable business outcomes, and shape data and AI transformation strategies.
• Coordinate with Enablement to roll out solutions, develop training materials, and manage organizational change.
• Stay current with state-of-the-art techniques in AI/ML and apply this knowledge to your day-to-day work.

Who you are:

• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or automation roles
• Practical experience with prompt and agentic frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and similar tools. Experience with automation solutions like n8n and Zapier is a plus.
• Deep understanding of automation technologies, including generative large language models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and other LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic architectures.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and Python coding skills.
• Solid technical background with ability to implement end-to-end AI systems
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Apache Airflow
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solution-oriented approach using rapid prototyping, experimentation, and iterative development.
• Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working across organizational stacks, taking ownership of end-to-end problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: Conductor maintains competitive, performance-based compensation programs. 

The NYC base salary range for this role is currently $95,000-$130,000 per year. Placement within that range will be dependent on experience.
