Associate BI Developer

What's the Short Version?

The Associate BI Developer is a Business Intelligence practitioner on our collaborative software development team. The role is responsible for understanding the data consuming needs of our business partners and delivering on them by helping building sophisticated reports and dashboards, developing database software and supporting SanMar's business intelligence practices.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Participate in business analysis activities to gather stakeholder requirements to drive key business decisions; translate information into specific technical requirements.
• Help research and resolve user issues such as security, system or DB errors, invalid data, BI report issues, or system bugs.
• Work with BI developers to develop and deliver BI solutions to meet business needs.
• Develop and support robust ETL solutions.
• Assist in root cause analysis for business intelligence related issues.
• Test and configure BI reports and visualizations for development, testing and deployment.
• Provide input in design sessions and work with business analysts and other IT staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

What Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• 0-1 years developing business intelligence solutions, including SSRS Reports and PowerPivot reports
• Experience supporting ETL and BI related solutions is preferred
• Experience in Agile-styled software development is preferred
• Be able to write SQL queries, functions and stored procedures to extract and aggregate data for BI solutions
• Demonstrates ability to create SSRS reports and build PowerPivot reports
• Understands database design, architecture and normalization
• Employs best practices that maximize database performance and reusability
• Has effective time management skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Demonstrates creative solutions to complex problems
• Uses industry best practices when manipulating dimensional and relational databases
• Has a passion to continuously learn and apply new technical knowledge
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
• Experience in Agile-styled software development a plus

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $77,970 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience.

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. Quarterly travel may be required.
