Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience, knowledge, and skill sets in product development, science and technology (PDS&T) by employing artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, data science and analytics with decision tree process to support AbbVie pipeline product development and on-market product continuous improvement. This includes advancing process development via AI/ML for prediction and projection, automatic monitor for process performance, and improve product robustness through design, process, and manufacturing technology to enhance AbbVie combination products, aesthetics, and devices. The approach is to achieve through engagement with team members and partners with subject matter experts to deliver project goals timely with high quality delivery.

Job Requirements:

• Possess insights into the relevance of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in pharmaceutical concentrations and knowledge in how these related core competences and tools can be applied across AbbVie multiple pharmaceutical products.
• Apply the usage of AI, ML, computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), digital image correlation (DIC) and their integration for pipeline product development, on-market product continuous improvements, and product complaint resolution.
• Demonstrate proficiency with proven experience in employing AI/ML expertise to enhance pharmaceutical product applications via multiple analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Employ AI/ML for pharma innovation to proactively identify the changes in trending at an earlier stage, provide the opportunities to mitigate the potential risk, improve product performance, and elevate use experience and patient quality of life.
• Experience in product process improvement and automation via AI/ML and data analytics, employing tracking and trending of manufacturing process for robustness, and mitigate product complaint through continuous improvements.  
• Enable to organize imperfectible data, analyze the available data, and develop AI/ML models and algorithms with continuous fine tune and team engagement to an effective system for AI/ML pharma applications.
• Knowledge and experience in deep learning and language packages such as Python, PyTorch, OpenCV, MLPs, Neural ODEs, CNNs, NLP, PINN and Euler Characteristic methodology.

Qualifications

• Hand-on proficiency in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data science (DS), and related fields and their integrated systems for the broad range of scientific and product functions in medical devices and device-drug delivery systems for pharmaceutical applications.
• Demonstrated excellence in breadth and depth within AI, ML, DS, and/or DIC discipline and across disciplines for pharma product applications, and advanced publication in the field with  academic training.
• Experience in the range of applications from robotics to natural language processing, with concentrating on data-driven applications like predictive analytics, tasks classification, and depth of data science.
• Desired a career history marked by a consistent series of AI, ML, DS, and/or DIC technical contributions and accomplishments in the fields. Significant contributions to pharma combination products, aesthetics, and devices, and process development and continuous improvements through creative applications of remarkable scientific impacts will equally be recognized.
• A M.S. in Engineering, science, or closely related discipline is acceptable, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated the competence, with a desired 10+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
• Preferred with a Ph.D. /degree with concentration in AI, ML, DS, and DIC with the major in computer and data sciences, data analytics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautics and astronautics engineering, mathematical engineering, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, physical chemistry, or other relevant degrees.
• Possess a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Exercises judgment and advises management as to the appropriate actions.
• Interact well with diverse groups within engineering and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
• Listen to and understand others' points of view and articulate tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
• Collaborate well with other engineers and/or scientists in a collaborative, fast-paced, team matrix, and goal-driven environment. Possesses people skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​​
