Job Description
The Team
The analytics team has four key areas that contain specialists in Product Analytics, Experimentation, Competitor Analytics, and Data. This position will collaborate with all areas including the broader Product, Design, and Strategy teams.
The Purpose of Product Analytics is to help Product Managers make data-informed decisions that help SEEK build the best possible solutions for the employment marketplace. The team is a trusted partner in this relationship, working with Product Managers to understand customer needs, areas of improvement, running A/B tests to assess change, and how we are impacting the marketplace.
What we are looking for:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and innovative thinking to our Candidate Product Analytics team.
- Partner with the Candidate Product Team to enable their understanding and decision making, drive innovation, and assist in crafting fantastic products for our customers.
- Reports to the Head of Product Analytics and is part of a broader team of data analysts who partner in close collaboration with Product Managers across the SEEK group.
- Leading an existing team as an impactful partner to Product, deriving analytical solutions that generate insight into how successfully our products meet customer needs.
About the role
The Analytics Manager serves as a trusted partner with the Candidate Product Managers and is responsible for providing analytical solutions that support the product development life cycle.
We are looking for a self-starter who can demonstrate great problem-solving leadership, tolerate ambiguity and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. To succeed in this role, you will be required to provide good judgment under pressure. You have a strong background working in analytics and have a sound understanding of analytical concepts including A/B testing, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding organizational and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind, a proven track record to assess the needs of partners and translate them into analytical solutions. As a trusted partner, you will lead a team of data analysts in ensuring Product Managers understand the performance of their products, the impact of product developments, and can talk confidently to their metrics. You are comfortable in rolling up your sleeves and will jump in to lead and solve problems directly as required. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to help our product function optimise outcomes for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on leader, leading the problem and driving towards solution to ensure success of our analytics and product ambitions
- Experience in crafting structured frameworks for measuring product health (e.g conversion funnels)
- Connecting, coordinate, collaborate and influence multi-functional teams to work closely with the business at early stage of engagements on ideation, assessment and formation of initiatives
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement on delivering business’ technological demands by leading and coaching teammates, finding opportunities to improve between business and tech teams
Qualifications
- Thought leader in analytics - have built, led or transitioned teams to demonstrate a high level of technical capability
- Understand how GenAI can be utilised within Analytics
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field advantageous (Science, Mathematics, Statistics, CompSci, etc)
- Extensive experience in an analyst type role and a track record of leading global or APAC teams of 6+ Analysts
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to translate and present data in a concise and meaningful way to collaborators
- Have worked extensively in a Tech/Product company and are comfortable working with large Product Teams
- Proven track record to work in projects with varying levels of ambiguity, and priorities that can change rapidly.
- In terms of technical experience - have strong SQL (and programming skills in Python would be advantageous) as well as a background in AB testing (Desirable).
