Summary:

Anaconda is seeking a talented Senior UX Researcher with strong quantitative research expertise and a deep understanding of AI and data science workflows. You’ll help shape the future of our AI-powered platforms by delivering impactful research that informs product strategy, design decisions, and long-term vision. Your work will help uncover insights about technical users, particularly data scientists, analysts, and developers.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with product, design, engineering, and go-to-market teams to define research priorities and deliver high-impact insights.
  • Design and execute end-to-end research initiatives using quantitative and mixed methods—including large-scale surveys, telemetry/log analysis, A/B testing, benchmarking, and statistical analysis.
  • Conduct or lead studies across a range of user types, industries, regions, and market segments—especially in AI/ML and data science contexts.
  • Promote research best practices, tools, and techniques across the company to scale efforts and empower non-researchers to contribute meaningfully.
  • Build and manage a UX research roadmap, prioritizing strategic and tactical research initiatives.
  • Evaluate and synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data through competitive analysis, heuristic evaluations, usability studies, and contextual inquiries.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights and tell compelling stories that influence executives, PMs, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Own and continuously evolve the research process to align with business goals and user needs.
What You Need:
  • 6+ years of UX research experience working on complex software products, with clear impact on product outcomes.
  • Proven success conducting research in technical domains such as AI, machine learning, data science, or developer tools.
  • Strong command of quantitative research methods and tools—e.g., statistics, survey design and analysis, SQL, R, Python (for data analysis), telemetry, or A/B testing.
Comfort with qualitative methods and a mixed-methods mindset to validate and deepen understanding.
  • A degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and storytelling skills; ability to influence decisions across teams and at all levels.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • A pragmatic, user-centered approach to problem-solving with sensitivity to business goals and technical constraints.
  • Strong project management skills, balancing user-centered design with business needs.
  • You embody our values of Clarity, Care and Candor
  • You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish
What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced quantitative research methods, including statistical modeling and data visualization.
  •  Proven track record of driving large-scale research initiatives with measurable business impact and successful C-level leadership engagement.
  •  Experience mentoring or building UX research teams, expanding research offerings, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience working in an open-source, AI, or data science-oriented company
Why You'll Like Working Here:
  • You'll thrive in a high-performance environment where results are recognized and rewarded
  • Your work directly contributes to shaping the future of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise.
  • You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values diverse, thoughtful discussion, clarity and candor.
  • You'll be supported by a culture that puts employees first - with flexible hours, a fully remote setup, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing and growth.
