Job Summary

The role will contribute to West's vision of enhancing its global market intelligence program and improving the customer experience. The Market Research Intern will focus on the collection, analysis and reporting of structured and unstructured voice of the customer feedback in support of West’s Customer Experience (CX) Program. This will include use of CX tools such as Qualtrics for web survey design, quantitative data analysis, topic model training for unstructured feedback, and dashboard development. As a vital member of the team, you will work collaboratively within the team and with key stakeholders where necessary to translate data into appropriate and defendable insights. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct primary and secondary research to gather data on West’s markets, customer preferences, and competitor products 

Assist in the design, execution and management of surveys and other data collection methods to support market analysis efforts 

Assist in import of structured and unstructured data sets into Qualtrics Customer Experience platform; including standard data cleansing techniques and appending of relevant account-level data where appropriate   

Analyze and interpret data using statistical tools such as Excel, Qualtrics, Python and R to identify patterns, trends, and insights 

Support design and development of dashboards, reports and presentations summarizing research findings and providing actionable insights 

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for reporting and analytics 

Assist in automation of data collection and reporting processes to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency 

Document data processes and workflows, ensuring clarity and accessibility for team members 

Support collaboration with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product management and Customer Success on their Customer Experience research needs 

Support the Market Research Director and broader Market and Competitive Intelligence team in ad hoc research projects and contribute to team discussions and brainstorming sessions 

Adhere to and reinforce West’s data governance, security, and privacy standards 

Other duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor’s degree in progress in Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field

Work Experience

0-3 years of experience in market research, data analysis, or a related field  

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with survey tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, MS Forms, etc. 

Experience with and data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, Python or R and/or data analysis and visualization within survey tools mentioned above 

Experience in creating and managing data visualizations and dashboards 

Experience with survey questionnaire design  

Ability to communicate market research findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders 

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description 

Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times

Travel Requirements

5%: Up to 13 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
