Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Job Description:

Position Description: 

Performs database development using Amazon Web Services (AWS) relational database technologies (Aurora, RDS, and DMS). Writes clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code, in an Agile environment, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle. Develops and extends applications that can derive insights to augment functionalities or business processes using Machine Learning (ML) technologies. Explores Proof of Concepts (POCs) to utilize ML or Large Language Models (LLMs) for various business use-cases. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing on-prem or cloud AWS applications and reports using Oracle PL/SQL and RDBMS in a financial services environment.  

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing on-prem or cloud AWS applications and reports using Oracle PL/SQL and RDBMS in a financial services environment. 

Skills and Knowledge: 

Candidate must also possess: 

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing complex Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Joins, Stored Procedures, functions, and packages using Oracle 12; and automating and scheduling end-to-end batch processes using BMC control-M, Microsoft SSRS, and SAP Business Objects reports. 

• DE building and providing core books and record capabilities on an agency lending platform by integrating FIS Global One, Rocket uniData, SB Client, and FIS Global Explorer in a security lending domain. 

• DE building and deploying software throughout the software development lifecycle using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and build tools (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Datadog, and Terracore) on cloud platforms (AWS S3 and Lambda). 

• DE developing semi-supervised, supervised, and unsupervised Machine Learning (ML) algorithms (Linear Regression and Time Series Analysis) and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms (Transformers, Large Language Models (LLMs)) and performing exploratory data analysis to extract insights and build/enhance Predictive Modeling applications using Python, PyTorch or Tensorflow.
