Position Summary:

The Endeavor-NorthShore Cardiovascular Institute is part of Endeavor Health, a large academic non-university health system and academic affiliate of  the University of Chicago School of Medicine. We are seeking a highly motivated Cardiovascular Outcomes Research Fellow to join our multidisciplinary research team. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for a physician-scientist or researcher with an interest in cardiovascular outcomes, epidemiology, and health services research. The fellow will engage in high-impact research aimed at improving cardiovascular care, informing clinical guidelines, and shaping future innovations.


What you will do:

  • Conduct original research on cardiovascular outcomes, polygenic risk scores, healthcare disparities, treatment effectiveness, and predictive modeling.
  • Utilize and analyze large-scale datasets, including electronic health records (EHR), administrative claims data and national/international registries (TriNetX, VIZIENT, NCDR).
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning methods for outcomes analysis.
  • Present research at national and international cardiology conferences (e.g., TCT, SCAI, AHA, ACC, ESC).
  • Prepare high-impact manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals such as Circulation, JACC, JSCAI and EHJ
  • Assist in securing external funding through NIH grants, foundation awards, and industry partnerships.

What you will need:

  • Education: MD, PhD, or equivalent degree in medicine, epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in cardiovascular research, clinical epidemiology, or health outcomes research.
  • Skills: Proficiency in statistical programming (R, SAS, Stata, or Python) and experience working with large datasets. Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct independent research. Excellent scientific writing and verbal communication skills. Prior experience with research methodology, study design, and manuscript preparation.
