State Street provides investment servicing, investment management, investment research and trading services to institutional investors worldwide.The Finance Risk Infrastructure Business Solutions Team is responsible for finance, risk and regulatory solutions in the bank. This role will require familiarity with finance and risk functions in a bank, will provide an excellent opportunity to interact with many areas of the bank’s businesses including Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Business and Treasury as part of the projects.
Business Analyst
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop subject matter expertise on respective functional domain: finance, risk and regulatory processes
- Verification/reconciliation of data flowing from source systems into FRIBS owned/maintained systems
- Enrichment of data requiring manual intervention/adjustment.
- Identification and remediation of long-standing adjustments/data quality issues
- Oversight of data quality profiling checks applied to critical data elements
- Prompt escalation/remediation of material data quality issues
- Compilation and distribution of data management reports to data stewards/owners and management
- Maintenance of procedural documentation pertaining to critical processes (e.g., reconciliation activities, table updates
- Accuracy and integrity of reporting materials
- Draft and dissemination of communication materials pertaining to data governance/management initiatives/issues
- Assist/maintain the upkeep of relevant system tables (reference, inclusion, etc.)
- Participate in data synchronization initiatives as needed
- Document, participate and administer training sessions associated with Data Operations Analyst responsibilities
- Contribute to the business architecture design and data strategy using your expertise in Credit Risk functional needs, technology and data management leading practices
- Proactively respond to and remediate issues raised by both internal and external oversight control functions
- Actively contribute to the preparation of training/communications materials
- Participate in the preparation and execution of comprehensive, end to end data testing
- Partner with business functions to gather business requirement,
- Create requirement documents, identify and document current and future data flow in and around the systems
- Understand the data elements associated with functions and their utilization that drives business decisions
- Develop, maintain and enhance Epics, stories, testing standards, processes in an AGILE environment
- Able to conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested by user group
- Write test cases, scripts to perform User Acceptance Testing of a business enhancement
- Understanding of business intelligence or canned reporting framework for finance, risk and regulatory processes
- Exemplify a customer focused, team driven mentality, serving as role model for colleagues, coaching and motivating team members to make needed adjustments in plans to meet milestones and to achieve goals
Qualifications:
- 8 - 15 years’ experience as a business Analyst or BI Analyst in a data-centric project environment.
- Minimum bachelor's degree in finance/engineering/ science.
- CFA/FRM/CPA is a plus
- Understanding of Finance, risk and regulatory business functions is preferred
- Strong PL/SQL skills, comfortable with large volumes of data, understands data transformation, normalization, and data-modelling
- Expertise in modelling / mapping as-is and to-be business processes
- Strong ability to quickly learn new BI tools and data sources. Spotfire, Cognos experience is a plus
- Meticulous attention to detail, placing high value on accuracy; diligent about upholding control points and procedures in the Software development lifecycle
- Ability to demonstrate experience with Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Willing to take ownership and initiative, be accountable and proactive, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities in an Agile and informal setting
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
