JOB LOCATION: Cambridge, MA

POSITION: Lead Data Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. is seeking a Lead Data Engineer with the following duties: Partner closely with stakeholders in the RDBU to build a solid business acumen and develop a material understanding of the respective business strategy; Co-develop the RDBU data product strategy in close collaboration with stakeholders and leadership; Develop and own realistic, achievable product roadmaps; Analyze business requirements, evaluate solution options, and facilitate business reviews; Develop and maintain pipelines that meet business needs, adhere to company standards, and incorporate best practices exploiting the benefits of cloud-nativity; Lead technical solution reviews with stakeholders; Directly support or coordinate with the help of DD&T SMEs complex data challenges to find fit-for-purpose solutions; Take full accountability for RDBU specific data products and help plan, mature, and support such including for development and ongoing operation of KPI’s for quality and availability; Work with DevOps teams to operationalize data products and help in troubleshooting when needed; Co-design and proactively mature effective and modern data architectures (conceptual, logical, and physical models) within company’s USBU and Global data ecosystem; Lead and/or participate in the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and processes including but not limited to analytics, data engineering, data quality, data governance, AI and GenAI. Up to 70% remote work allowed.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Engineering or related field plus 3 years of prior experience. Prior experience must include: Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and architecture using AWS native technologies to support all therapeutic areas by increasing data accessibility and fostering data driven decision making across the company; Build and maintain technical solutions required for optimal ingestion, transformation and loading of EDC and external vendor data from a wide variety of systems viz; Veeva and Elluminate for preparation of SDTM, ADaM and TLF data; Leverage the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform decision-making; Implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms; Use knowledge in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases' experience in designing, building and managing large scale data structures and pipelines; optimized queries to build data pipelines.

Full time. $147,000.00 - $244,400.00 per year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
